Individual Therapy & Counselling
Sex and relationship therapy South Lanarkshire
Individual and couples counselling
Individual Therapy offers a safe and confidential space for our clients to learn to address and manage their feelings and behaviours in a healthy way, and build strategies to help them to move forward in their lives.
Your initial individual therapy session at STW Counselling is an opportunity for you to discuss with your counsellor a framework including what is expected from you, our confidentiality promise, the length and duration of the sessions and so on. It also gives you the opportunity to ask questions and address any concerns you may have about the counselling process.
Sex Therapy South Lanarkshire
STW Counselling specialises in individual sex therapy for issues ranging from diminished desire, to problems with sexual performance, to relationship issues. Our specialist Sex Therapist, Susan Wright, provides a safe and comfortable therapeutic environment in which to explore your problems and find positive solutions.
Common issues which people seek sex therapy for include:
- Loss of sex drive
- Loss of desire for partner
- Vaginismus (penetration difficulties)
- Erectile difficulties
- Dyspareunia (painful intercourse)
- Anorgasmia (inability to orgasm)
- Delayed or Premature ejaculation
- Sexual phobia
- Sexual orientation
Our clients seek sex therapy and counselling at all stages of their lives. Sometimes a specific issue or problem has caused them to seek help, but often it may be a longer term problem, such as a gradual waning of desire within a relationship. Our individual counselling can help you to consider the changes you may want to make to improve your life, and help you to decide how best to achieve those changes. We can help you to recognise and understand your own strengths and weaknesses and how you can move forward.
STW Counselling’s individual therapy can help you to openly explore a sexual problem and how it is impacting your life. By understanding and acknowledging what is holding you back and causing you to struggle, we can help you to get back on track, whether that be in a relationship, or in your own life’s journey. We work with our clients to help them to discover new ways of overcoming problems, and to create strategies for dealing with issues when they arise in the future, giving you a road map to move forward once your counselling has ended.
